This notice explains what personal information we collect when you use nuaei.com or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. Please read it alongside our cookie information and our Terms and Conditions.

1. Who we are

nuãei is a trading name of Wicker Wings, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 09383343. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. This includes your name, email address, billing and delivery addresses, telephone number, order history, any correspondence you send us, your marketing preferences, and any reviews or content you submit.

Payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment providers. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Information we collect automatically. When you visit our website we may collect your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the products you look at, and how you arrived at our site. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not knowingly collect information from children. Our website is not directed at children.

3. How we use your information, and our lawful basis

  • To process and deliver your order, including passing your details to our carriers. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • To take payment and prevent fraud. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interests in protecting our business from fraud.
  • To make customs declarations for international orders. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To answer your questions and provide customer service. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries.
  • To send you marketing emails. Lawful basis: your consent, or our legitimate interests where you have bought from us and we are telling you about similar products. You can opt out at any time.
  • To understand how our website is used and to improve it. Lawful basis: your consent for non-essential cookies, and our legitimate interests in running and improving our business.
  • To invite and publish product reviews. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in gathering feedback, and your consent where required.
  • To keep accounting and tax records. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether those interests are outweighed by your rights, and we have concluded that they are not. You may object to this processing at any time using the details in section 10.

4. Marketing

We will only send you marketing emails where you have asked us to, or where you have bought from us and we are telling you about similar products. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email hello@nuaei.com to opt out at any time.

If you opt out, we will keep a minimal record of your request so that we do not contact you again by mistake. You will still receive emails relating to any orders you place.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to run our website, remember your basket, understand how the site is used, and measure the performance of our advertising. Essential cookies are needed for the site to work. We will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your preferences at any time through the cookie settings on our website or through your browser settings.

6. Who we share your information with

We share your personal information with organisations that provide services to us. These include:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes our checkout.
  • Our payment providers, which process your payment.
  • Klaviyo, which we use to send emails.
  • Our delivery partners, including Royal Mail, UPS and Easyship, which deliver your order.
  • Customs authorities in destination countries, where a declaration is required by law.
  • Our accountants and professional advisers.

We may also disclose your information where we are required to do so by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If our business is sold or reorganised, your information may be transferred to the new owner.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. International transfers

Some of the organisations we work with are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard. This will usually be UK adequacy regulations, or the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

8. How long we keep your information

  • Order and accounting records: six years after the end of the financial year in which the order was placed, to meet HMRC requirements.
  • Account information: for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record kept so that we do not contact you again.
  • Correspondence: normally for two years after your query is resolved.
  • Website and cookie data: as set out in our cookie information.

9. Your rights

Under data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information in certain circumstances;
  • object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time;
  • ask us to transfer your information to you or another organisation in a portable format, where we rely on your consent or on our contract with you; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This does not affect anything we have done before you withdrew it.

We do not make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@nuaei.com. There is normally no charge, and we will respond within one month. If your request is complex, we may extend this by up to two further months, and we will tell you if that happens. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first at hello@nuaei.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond to it without undue delay.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time. You do not have to complain to us first.
