What's changed, and what hasn't
A new name, a new collection. Three woven crafts, eighteen months in the making, with full-grain leather and gold hardware. The same people, the same vision, and the same purpose.
Our full circle moment
She gave us the name
Ten years ago, James and I started Wicker Wings in honour of our grandmother. One evening around the dinner table, Māma shared stories of her years weaving in China, a craft we never knew she had mastered.
Years later, when we needed a new name, we turned to her. She chose Nüwa, the goddess who shaped the world from the earth and held family at its heart. From her story, nuãei was born.
3 materials, same vision
Leather
Handwoven full-grain leather, finished with gold hardware. Structured, timeless, and made to grow more beautiful with age.
Mendong
Grown in Indonesian wetlands, carefully dried and woven with full-grain leather. Naturally lightweight, with a texture all its own.
Rattan
Our signature rattan weave, handcrafted by skilled women and finished with high quality materials. Timeless, natural, and ours.
